This afternoon was very hot and so we decided to see how Jack would enjoy the sprinkler we got him for his birthday. The water was really really cold, but Jack seemed to love it. He kept getting sprayed directly in the face, but it didn't seem to bother him.

Water Carnival
This weekend was spent up in Hoyt Lakes, MN at a softball tournement that Steve plays in - Water Carni. Although most people went up Friday night, we left Saturday morning to make it for the start of softball games. In between games, we spent a lot of time playing lawn darts, bean bags, and other yard games. In the evening we headed over to the band Styx that was playing near the fields.

There team ended up losing there first game on Sunday morning and in turn were elimated for an earlier end to the weekend than expected.

New Play Area
This week Steve had a few days off while Jack was at daycare, so he and his dad worked on getting Jack's play area cleaned up. Not that he can really enjoy it yet, but the area was becoming a big eye sore with all the weeds that were growing. They added a whole truck load of new wood chips and then last night we went an bought some of that colored Crayola sand. As you can see in the picture we chose the blue.

Outdoor Wedding
Camping
This past weekend marked Jack's second annual camping trip to Crosslake. We had left Friday night and got half way there when tornado sirens starting going off in the direction we were heading. Since we had plans to sleep in a tent we decided to head back home for the night.
Saturday morning we were back on the road by 8am. Because Saturday was still very windy with patchy showers and Sunday was pretty cool we didn't do much but play in our campsite and let Jack get all dirty.

By Monday it was in the mid 80s and we were able to get to the beach. Jack really enjoyed playing in the water and the sand. We also played our usual bean bag tournament. I had to defend my championship win from last year - and I pulled through to win it again and beat Steve for the second year in a row.

Happy 4th of July
Today was a busy day filled with parades, BBQs, and fireworks.
This morning we went to the parade in Cloquet. For the most part Jack just wanted to run around in the grassy area behind the people, so we really didn't see much of the actual parade, but for a short time he did watch as the fire trucks drove by.

After that we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's for a BBQ. We put Jack in his swimsuit and brought his little blow-up bath tub to use as a swimming pool on the deck.
In the evening we went over to Dan and Katie's so we could BBQ and Jack could play with Quinn. Although I didn't get any pictures of this, I do think Jack and Quinn kissed quite a few times.
Finally, once Jack went to bed and Grandma and Grandpa came over to stay with him, we walked down to the fireworks at Veteran's Park.

Our New Deck
For about the past week and a half Steve and his dad have spent a lot of time working on our new deck in our back yard. Since we recently got our fence put up, we decided it would be nice to have a place to put our table and chairs and be able to eat outside. Also, it will be great because now our entire back yard is enclosed for Jack to play in. Here is a quick look at a before picture when they first started.
