Happy Halloween

This week has been a very busy week for us here in the Battaglia household. On Thursday, it was Steve and my 4 year wedding anniversary. To celebrate, we just went out to eat in town on Wednesday, but this weekend I think we will try to get out for a longer date.

Today, for Halloween, Grandma Battaglia brought Jack up to the clinic and over to Grandpa's work so everyone could see him in his costume. Then, once Steve was done with work, we went to both grandparent's houses, to great-grandma's, and out to see Jayce in his cute little skunk costume. After all our outings were complete, Jack and I came back home (Steve had a football game) so Dan and Katie could come over with Chloe, Quinn, and Dru to trick-or-treat in our neighborhood. Katie and I handed out candy, and unfortunately I even ran out and had to turn kids away. Kind of embarrassing, but I shut off the yard light, and eventually people started to get the hint.

As you can see, Jack was a Bat for Halloween. We didn't really know what kind of a noise the animal makes, so we just taught Jack to blow with his lips and chatter his teeth (kind of like he is sucking blood).

One and a Half

Yesterday Jack turned one and half. He has been doing and saying a lot of new things lately. He pretty much has most animal sounds down at this point and even crawls around like a cow. He has also been learning many new songs at daycare and from all of us and how to do the actions with the words. Some of his favorites are 'Ring Around the Rosie', 'The Wheels on the Bus', 'Twinkle, Twinkle', and 'Isty Bitsy Spider.'

He has also started doing a lot of projects at daycare. For the most part he gets help from the teachers, but it's fun for him to try.

Bayfield Applefest

Yesterday I came home sick and didn't do much other than sleep so today we decided to try and get out of the house today. Although we didn't anticipate the drive to be quite 2 hours, we decided to make the trip to Bayfield for the annual Apple Festival.

We got there about 11:30 and after finding a parking spot somewhere in town we had to walk only about 10 blocks to get to the where the action was. There were a ton of food and craft booths, but we decided to head straight for the Gyros. After we ate and fed Jack, we walked around with the stoller crammed in the streets with hundreds of people. After about an hour and half we were sick of the crowd, so we walked the 10 blocks back to our car - directly up hill.

Once we got home, it was really nice outside, so we tried to get some last minute yard clean-up done before it starts to get too cold. Jack played in the yard while Steve worked on Bruin's kennel and I cleaned up all the plants from the summer. We also took a few pictures of Jack with the pumpkins we bought last week. We took a similar picture as we did last year.

It's funny to see how much older Jack looks this year.
