Wedding Fun

Last night we attended Ryan and Ashley Langenbrunner's wedding. We left Jack and Olivia with grandma and grandpa Johnson, while we went to the ceremony, Old Chicago, and the reception at The Depot. We had a good time and it was nice to get out with our friends.

Here are also a few pics of us...

Jack really likes to try and hold Olivia now and when she is crying he will try to comfort her. If she is in the bouncer he will shake it up and down and regardless of where she is he will seach around for her pacifier and then put it in her mouth (usually upside down).

Haircut

Today I took Jack to get his first real haircut. I have trimmed it on my own before, but the length was truly getting out of control and needed some professional attention. He was a little bit scared at first and wasn't willing to put the cape on. But after I gave him a fruit snack to hang on to the lady just started clipping away and he didn't seem to mind too much.

Adventures in Duluth

This morning we headed to Duluth to just walk around canal park. We got Caribou Coffee, walked along the boardwalk down to Fitger's, let Jack throw rocks in the water, and got Cold Stone ice cream on our way back to the car - all while Olivia was sleeping. It was a fun to actually spend some time in Duluth as a tourist rather than just heading to work.

Also, here is a picture of Olivia at 5 weeks.

The Beach

Last night we took Jack, for the first time, to the newly renovated pool in town. We went in the evening since Steve was gone golfing all day, but since it was still 88 degrees we figured he wouldn't get too cold.

I took Jack right in and showed him how to jump off of the edge into the water. After a few times he was completely fearless and wanted to do it himself. Then once we introduced him to the 2 children's slides they have - there was no stopping him. We stayed for about an hour and a half and needless to say it was fight to get him to leave. We actually had to bribe him with M&Ms from the concession stand :)

Olivia - 1 Month

It's hard to believe that Olivia is already 1 month old today. And although she really doesn't sleep much at night without being held we are thankful that the medicine she is on seems to be making her much more happy.

Last week I ordered her a little crochet hat from Etsy and I must say it is pretty cute. Thanks to LeAnn, who introduced me to the site, I have now become addicted. The website is for a place to buy and sell all handmade things and I have especially taken a liking to the children's dresses, booties, and hats.

On another note - Jack was invited to his first birthday party today. We headed over to Quinn's house to play with the other kids, open presents, and eat ice cream and cake. Jack was also able to take a few swings at the pinata and actually hit it.

Basketball golf outing

Yesterday was the annual golf outing for the Cloquet basketball teams. Jack was in daycare and my mom came over to watch Olivia, so I was able to ride around in the cart with Steve's team.

I bought a number of raffle tickets as well and ended up winning a t-shirt, golf towel, several gift cards, and because Steve had a few Country Club gift certificates - I ended up getting a pretty cool jacket for free.

Miracle

Last week Olivia started taking the Zantac and she is a completely different baby. She no longer cries all day long like before and mostly only cries when she is hungry. Of course she still has some periods where she gets fussy, but nothing like what we were going through before. Thank God that it is safe to give medication to babies this little to stop the acid reflux.

We have actually been able to get out of the house now that she is not crying so much. Last week we went on quite a few walks and have been able to get some use out of the double jogger we bought. We have gone over to the park a few times and down to the river so Jack could throw rocks in the water.

This weekend we even took Olivia with us to St. Cloud for a summer basketball tournement that Steve's high school team played in. She was very good and slept most of the time. The team only won one of the games, but we were able to go out for dinner, stay in a hotel, and even get some shopping in.
