Well it's been a few weeks since Jack started preschool at Queen of Peace, but he sure seems to be enjoying it. He goes only 2 days a week, on Tuesday and Thursday, but gets to spend a full day there from 8-3. Then he does an after school program with Kathy, his Sunday school teacher, until Steve or I are done with work.
The day is a bit more structured and definitely fewer kids than what Jack is used to. At Think N Play there are around 15-20 kids in his class, but at QOP there are only about 7. They do circle time, reading time, and what Jack likes most of all - gym time.
Here is a picture of him on his first day of school.

Labor Day
Today, for Labor Day, our family walked in the parade for the Cloquet teachers and athletic program. The kids rode in the wagon and threw some candy and were surprisingly well behaved. Jack even handed out a few Cloquet pencils to some little kids.
Then, because we walked so early in the parade - we were able to come back around and watch the rest of it while the kids got some candy.

Day away
Yesterday we got a little day away from work and kids and headed down to the MN State Fair with our friends, the Harker's. We picked them up early in the am after we all dropped off our kids at daycare. Got to the fair about 10:30 and started right in with eating the cheese curds. Throughout the day we also shared a turkey sandwich, deep fried pickles, corn on the cob, cookies, a pronto pub, a few sodas, and a s'more.
We left the fair in the late afternoon and then ran to the mall for a quick stop before checking into the hotel. Then around 6 we met a group of 14 people at the Target Center for the MN Lynx basketball game. We had won a luxury suite at a golf outing this summer, so we gathered together with a few friends and watched the game. After, we grabbed a bite to eat at Rock Bottom and went for a few drinks before heading back to the hotel to crash after a long day.
Again, I failed to take pictures.

Ice Cream Social
On Thursday night we had a little ice cream social over at Queen of Peace where Jack will be going to preschool. I didn't take any pictures, but thought I should still post a little something. We were able to meet the principal, eat some ice cream, and meet some other kids and parents before Jack starts on Tuesday. It shouldn't be much of an adjustment for him since he goes to Sunday school there and is used to being away from the home all day.
More to come after Tuesday...
