Jack - 9 Months

Today, Jack is 9 months old. It's hard to believe how fast he is growing and that he will soon be a year. Today we noticed that his first upper tooth is starting to appear. The gum is all swollen and you can hear him grind it against his lower teeth (not the prettiest sound). 9 months also mean he can start eating some different foods. Last week we started feeding him some Gerber banana puffs and dried fruit pieces.

Also, tonight when I was getting Jack's bath stuff ready I put him in his crib with a few toys. When I walked back past his room, I noticed something I had never seen before. My little 'angel' was standing up in his crib. He has now mastered pulling himself up on stuff, but I didn't realize he was quite ready for this. Yikes! Hopefully he doesn't learn how to get out of there anytime soon.

Busy Weekend

This weekend was pretty busy for us. On Friday night Steve had a basketball game against Denfeld in which they won by about 40 points.

On Saturday morning we made sure to get some pictures of Jack in his camoflauge pajamas from Grandpa Johnson.

He was moving all around the living room going from the couch to his entertainer and then back to the couch. He wants to be standing all the time and if he's not, he doesn't seem to be as happy.

On Sunday morning, I went to visit my friend Krystal who recently had brain surgery. We both went to Cloquet high school, then lived together for a year while we were both in college, and then she was also a bridesmaid in our wedding. This past surgery was the second surgery she has had in the past few years and we are hoping that this time it will help.

Sunday afternoon, Jack and I went to my sister's bridal shower at our church. She is getting married February 16th, so we all gathered to wish her well. My cousin's daughter Ella was there too and she is 13 months old. I don't think Jack has learned how to 'play nice', because when Ella was playing with Jack's keys - he crawled right across her lap and stole them back.

Moving, Moving, Moving...

With Jack being almost 9 months old his whole way of moving has completely changed. About a month ago he started pushing himself up on his knees, but we thought he would never learn to crawl as he simply couldn't keep his stomach off the ground for long enough. At about the same time he started standing next to the couch, but there really was no movement. And now within the last week he has started taking steps while you hold onto his hands and managed to learn how to 'army' crawl. Once he is on the ground, before you know it he is across the room. With that being said, we decided it is time to start the baby proofing the house. So this weekend we are going to put in all the outlet covers and go purchase some baby gates for the stairways.
