New York City

Last Saturday, Steve and I flew out to the East Coast because I had to go to our office in New Jersey for work. So we went a few days early so we could sight see in NYC.

On Saturday when we got there we went shopping in SoHo where I found quite a few purses (my main goal of the trip). Then when we were walking back to our hotel we decided to go to a Broadway play since neither of us had been before. We ended going to Legally Blonde and it was very good. Since that didn't get over until almost 11pm, we just decided to walk around Times Square and take some pictures with all the lights on.

Sunday we got up and went to mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral. This church is so huge and because of all the people that go there, mass is scheduled for every hour from 7am until 4pm. After, we decided to walk through all of Central Park. It was in the upper 80s and so hot, but we got to see the Bethesda Terrace, Belvedere Castle, Strawberry Fields, Sheep Meadow, and more. It's amazing how this park exsists right in the middle of all the sky skrapers and how it was totally packed with people walking, biking, and reading.

And finally, on Monday, we woke up bright and early and went down to the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the site of the World Trade Center. We took a ferry out to the islands to see the statue and then to see if we could track down one of Steve's relatives that passed through Ellis Island. We found his name in the records which was pretty cool. And last but not least, we walked by the World Trade Center site. It was completely under construction and the only thing to see was a few little memorials on the side roads surrounding the area.
