My New Big Boy Room
This past weekend we finally finished putting together Jack's new room. We painted it a different color, got him a little chair and table set, and the biggest milestone - a new big boy bed. We are just putting him on a Twin mattress for now, but he seems to be loving it. We started out letting him sleep there on Sunday for his nap and he was so proud to climb right in and close his eyes. Since then he has slept there every night without waking up. I'd like to believe it would be this simple, but we're just waiting for him to realize that he is not confined and that he can actually get out.
Another thing we have noticed in the past few days is that Jack wants to sing his nursery rhyme songs on his own. Every night he goes through this session of singing Baa Baa Black Sheep, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Row Row Row Your Boat, Twinkle Twinkle, and a few more. Of course there is a video to accompany this...so here is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Happy Birthday - Jack!
Yesterday was Jack's second birthday. It's hard to believe that he is already 2 and that we will have another baby on the way in 2 months. For the big day he brought cookies to daycare and when I picked him up he still had some of the yellow frosting on his face.
This morning Jack had his 2 year pictures taken, but I should point out that this was actually the first time he has had them done. After we got home and Jack took a nap everyone from the immediate family came over for a party. For the most part the theme was SpongeBob which included balloons and a cake that was pretty cute. With the weather being so nice we ended up being able to sit outside and grill while Jack played basketball, used his new golf clubs, and went on the slide.

Exhausting Weekend
So I know it is already Thursday, but I guess it's better late than never.
Last weekend I had my friend Stacey's bachelorette party in Minneapolis to go to. On Thursday night I had come down with a very bad cold and was completely exhausted. Steve and Jack came down to the cities with me and we first stopped at his cousin's house for a visit. Then Steve drove me downtown where all of us girls met at a restaurant called Chino Latino's. We hung out there for a while, ate supper, played a small game, and then headed to a few local bars. Needless to say I barely made it past 11pm before Steve came to pick me up again.
So congratulations to Stacey and Mike who's wedding is in May.
On another note, we captured another funny video of Jack counting like a maniac. He was watching one of his latest Elmo videos and it's hilarious to see him try to act along...

Happy Easter
Happy Easter to everyone that we didn't get to see today and hopefully everyone enjoyed the 60 degree weather like we did.
This morning, instead of an Easter basket, we gave Jack a Thomas the Train backback full of goodies. He got a Spongebob placemat and sunglasses as well as some clothes, stickers, and a replacement of his favorite book, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.

After church, we went to my grandma Johnson's house and then to Steve's parent's house for dinner.
I also figured it was time I post another belly shot because I haven't done so in a few months.

Concert, Showers, and Parties
This weekend was probably one of my busiest that was packed into about 24 hours.
Friday, I left work early so 3 of my friends and I could head down to the Minneapolis to see Britney Spears in concert. We checked into our hotel and went to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe before the big show started. At 8:30, The Pussycat Dolls, came on stage as the opening performers. They were really good and it was great because they sang their most wellknown songs.

Around 10 (way past my bedtime), Britney finally came on stage. She performed for about 1 1/2 hours and sang a bunch of songs, both old and new. I must say I was kind of disappointed that the majority of the songs were lip-sync, but she still put on a good show.

Early Saturday morning we were back on the road so I could make it to Cloquet for Stacey's bridal shower. Immediately from there, Stacey and I went to yet another bridal shower for our friend Krystal. I took a short break to change and then it was off to Krystal's bachelorette party in Duluth. We played games in the condo that they rented, went to eat dinner at The Scenic Cafe, and then for drinks (none for me) at the new Black Water bar. I finally had to call an end to my night just shortly after midnight, but thought I had done pretty well for being over 6 months pregnant.
