Movin' on Up

We've been so busy lately with Steve gone hunting and me being home with sick kids. Olivia has had two ear infections in the past few weeks (both ears, both times) and even though she has the tubes fixed now, the infections still seem to be bothering her. Shes had a few restless nights, but hopefully she is on the mend.

This past week Olivia moved up into the toddler room at school. Once they hit 16 months, they are no longer considered a baby, and are required to move up to the next room. It always seems like this is too early of a transition, but Dr. Manney again re-assured me that it's really a state law and it's for their benefit so they can learn and thrive in their new environment.

So far she seems to be doing great. She'll be with some bigger kids, and will be learning how to sit and eat in a regular chair (no more high chair), use a regular cup, eat a hot lunch, and the thing that always seems so extreme - she'll be napping on a cot. Apparently she's done great with the cot and one of the days she was asleep and snoring within minutes of the lights going out.

The week before she moved into her new room, we had a little conference with her infant teacher to see how she is doing for her age group. Her teacher just loved her and said Olivia was such a little helper and quite the little mischief maker.

Here's a pic her of feeding herself. We don't even bother helping her anymore because then she just get's mad and will refuse to eat. She's actually been doing a pretty good job and makes our life much easier.

*Speaking of mischief - today I was doing some cleaning and  found a hamburger bun from their fake food collection - inside of the DVD/VCR player. My hunch is that Olivia did it, since I always catch her with her hand in that VCR slot.
