New Orleans

Last week I headed to New Orleans for a conference for work. I flew out of Duluth on Tuesday afternoon and arrived in NOLA around 5:30 and headed straight for my hotel. The hotel was so nice and it was very technologically advanced. To ride the elevator you'd just wave your room card under a sensor and you did the same to get into your room. I ordered room service that night and just hung out.

Wednesday morning, I was up and went for down to the River Walk. It was so windy I could hardly walk, but I made it the 1.5 miles round trip. In the afternoon, I attended a 3 hour session and then decided to head to dinner with 8 other people I met from various credit unions. We went to a restaurant in the French Quarter and then proceeded to walk back to our hotel down Bourbon Street. Very interesting place and such close quarters that I can't even imagine what Mardi Gras would be like.

Thursday, I had the conference all day and in the evening 4 of us headed to Hard Rock then to one of the SEC tournament games that was just 1 block from our hotel.

Friday, again were sessions all day and then I raced to the airport to catch my flight. I was a very good conference and nice to meet many new people, but I was glad to get home.
