Surgery or no surgery?

So today Jack was supposed to have his old tubes removed, new tubes put in both ears, and his adenoids removed. So we checked into the hospital at 6:30 and proceeded to do all the pre-op procedures. Jack was wisked away with the nurse and taken into the OR. About 10 minutes in to the procedure, a nurse came to the waiting room to say I had a call from the Dr. that was doing the surgery. Initially I was worried something was wrong or that they were unable calm him down (even though he was taken away in good spirits), but it was exactly the opposite. He wanted to say that both of Jack's ears looked perfectly healthy and that he really would advise against putting in new tubes and doing the adenoidectomy. I was a bit surprised, but agreed that if he was completely healthy it was not worth committing to another year of tubes and subjecting him to the discomfort of having his adenoids removed.

Jack 'before' was all happy and couldn't wait to get his after-surgery treats. 'After' he was miserable with his IV in and wouldn't even hear of drinking juice or even moving for that matter.

I'm so sorry to read that you have been going through all these medical issues with both babies! Great news that the doctor didn't recommend new tubes or surgery!!
