We've finally had a few warm days in June (without rain), so the kids have been able to get out and enjoy the pool in the back yard.
First when I was home with Olivia on Tuesday after she got out of the hospital, I thought it would make her feel good to get out and sit a some cool water in the shade. She loved it even though it was just a little rubbermaid bin of water.
The next night Steve was gone, so before the kids got home I quick cut some watermelon, made peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, blew up the bigger pool, and was all ready to go so they could play outside. We were out there for about an hour and half playing in the water and eating supper. Here's a comparison of Jack from last year to this year in the same swimsuit. I can't believe how much older he looks (yet I still have him wearing last year's suit because the one for this year is too big).
To finish off the week with some nice weather we headed up to Grand Rapids for my aunts retirement party. There were lot of little kids up there and it was warm enough that they all got to play in the sprinkler. Even Olivia walked right into it with no fear.
Gosh, I love summer. I just wish I didn't have to work and could be off with Steve and the kids.
