Lumberjack Laps

On Mother's Day weekend, Jack participated in the Lumberjack Laps (a fundraiser for Cloquet schools). Because he just turned 5, he was running with older kids and had to run an entire lap around the track. I wasn't sure he could make it and I'm not sure he understood that the concept was to run the fastest, but he had so much fun.

I was really proud of him because I thought he would be too shy to run on his own, but he was running so fast it was hilarious. Then he'd slow way down and let people pass him and then speed up again. He was in a group of about 16 kids and got 9th place. He was just excited to get a ribbon and have his grandparents there to watch him.

After the race, we had hotdogs, slushies, and the kids were able to play on some obstacle course the school had set up. It was really nice outside, so it was a great day to be there.

I had to run that in the Dollar Dog outfit last year ... very pregnant! That must have been right before you started.

Cute pics ...
