Memorial Day Weekend

This weekend we decided at the last minute to head up to Grand Marais and meet Grandma and Grandpa Johnson to do some camping. We knew it was likely going to be bad weather in both places, but Grand Marais said Saturday would be a high of 55 and sunny, so we took a chance. The good news: it didn't rain on Saturday. The bad news: it was only about 49 (and felt like it was 39). We were cold and even went to the local Ben Franklin to buy winter hats.

Thankfully the campground had an indoor pool so that gave us something to do in the afternoon and then we had dinner at Sven and Ole's pizza place. During the night on Saturday it poured and at one point I even thought our camper was going to fly away. We were so close to Lake Superior that we could hear the crashing waves all night long.

Needless to say we are exhausted from 2 crazy kids, a long car ride, and little sleep due to the rain. It was fun, but we're just thankful to be home in our nice warm house.
