Merry Christmas

This week was full of several Christmas celebrations with all parts of our families. First on Sunday night we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Battaglia's so we could open presents with Steve's immediate family. We had dinner and opened a ton of presents. Then on Monday night we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's for that immediate family side. Again, we ate dinner and opened even more presents. At this point Steve and I were both thinking that Jack had already gotten enough toys to last him a lifetime, but knew we still had many get togethers left.

On Christmas eve we headed to Steve's aunt and uncle's house in Duluth to spend time with the extended Battaglia family. There was a lot of food and people that we hadn't seen in a long time, so it was good to visit with everyone. We also had drawn names on that side of the family so we all exchanged gifts later in the afternoon. In the early evening we left to head back to Cloquet to see my family. Jack feel asleep in the car for about an hour, so we just drove around and looked at Christmas lights until it was time to go to my Grandpa Burman's house. We ended up eating even more food and of course opening more presents before calling it a night at around 10pm.

On Christmas day, we got up and headed to church. After that we went over to my Grandma Johnson's for dinner and visited with the extended Johnson family. Then, in the afternoon, once Jack woke up from his nap, we went back to Steve's parents to celebrate Christmas with Steve's mom's side of the family.

So basically it was a very busy week and we were all surprised at how well Jack handled all the excitement. With shortened naps and much later bed times, we thought he would be a wreck, but he seemed to put on a show for everyone.
